The Bighorn project is down to the last couple of days. Yesterday our painter Cindy was putting the finishing touches on the amazing wooden fieplace, a mix of cold rolled metal, fir beams and beetle kill blue pine. What do you think of this fireplace?!
Every Tuesday night, all summer long, downtown Whitefish hosts a great farmers market, full of local produce, fresh fruit from around the Flathead, baked goods, crafts, local treasures, and my personal favorite…kettle korn. If you haven’t had the chance to check it out you really should give it a try!

It’s a beautiful Friday night, my car thermometer says it is 93 degrees in downtown Whitefish, and our framers are working late to get floor trusses set this evening on our new project. And that makes me happy.

There is something quite exciting about seeing the walls start to go up on a new project. All the planning, all the design, and finally you have the first glimpse of a house. Now the fun really starts!

We like wood. We especially like our big timber beams which we use as accent details on the exterior and interior of our homes. Today my framers set the beams on the entry of our new East Rim home. I have to admit it was pretty exciting and impressive seeing them put it into place!

Designing and building a house with us is truly a fun process from the moment we start working on the plans till the day you walk in the front door. Making all those plans and ideas come to life is very exciting! Here we are working on some exterior color schemes to help our clients visualize their custom Whitefish home.
Check out the corbels on the front of our carriage house! In architecture a corbel is a structural piece of stone, wood or metal jutting from a wall to carry a super incumbent weight, a type of bracket.
I can’t help but brag a little about our carpenter Tom, who just finished this amazing reclaimed wood room. Tom created this set of false doors which look so real everyone who sees them wants to pull them open. They really are a work of art, as is this special space he just created!
Trusses were just set at our new project today, which makes it feel like a house! This is part of the full wall of windows looking out the back of the great room. Pretty nice view, wouldn’t you say?
We love the idea of designing special places in your home which are both a creative use of space and something uniquely you. This particular client has a grandson who loves the color orange (and sleepovers!) Just imagine all the fun memories these bunks will make.
